virtual college exploration
www.strivescan.com/virginia/
The Virginia Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Counselors (VACRAO) is proud to present our Virtual College Exploration program, for all Virginia students, September 14-November 5.
The eight-week program consists of hundreds of opportunities for students to learn about the college search process and about many different colleges through panel presentations and weekly Virtual College Fairs.
Students will gain a wealth of college knowledge, get exposure to a variety of colleges, and have the opportunity to ask questions of admission counselors, all in a safe, flexible, online environment.
All high school students, transfer students, parents, and counselors throughout Virginia are all welcome to attend. Participation is free.
Students should participate live so they can ask questions and interact with the college admission counselors. If students are unable to attend live, we still encourage them to register for the sessions they are interested in and recordings will be available later.

gather materials |
Start a folder or filing system NOW for all of your college paperwork. Include the following:
GPA Students’ junior year GPA’s are available on Powerschool or in the main office from Mrs. Buckland & Ms. Hale. Please recall that your GPA is computed using the final letter grade of each class taken. (Classes taken prior to the 9th grade are not included unless they earned HS credit). Weighted courses receive extra credit when the calculation is done. Information about final GPA should be available by mid-May. At that time, honor graduates (3.45 and above) will be announced. |
build a college list |
Make sure you are aware of all requirements from each school.

Plan essays |
If your application requires an essay, spend time organizing and planning your writing prompts.
