Virginia junior chamber international senate
$1000 grant opportunity for graduating seniors who plan to continue their education at an accredited post-secondary college, university, or vocational school. Awards must be used for educational expenses in the first year of full-time study. Applications may be found on-line at http://www.usjcisenate.org/index.php/programs/scholarship. Applications should be completed in Microsoft Word or neatly handwritten in blue or black ink. Application packets include high school contacts, college information, parent or guardian information, financial statement, leadership positions & offices/memberships/honors and awards, employment, 100-300 word personal statement, college acceptance letters, supporting documentation, up to 3 reference letters, and an official transcript. Janice m scott memorial scholarship
Scholarship opportunity for graduating seniors with a GPA of 3.0 or higher who have demonstrated leadership abilities through participating in community services or other extracurricular activities. Parent adjusted income cannot exceed $50,000. Candidates must submit a typed or handwritten (in blue or black ink) application and all required documentation to the Janice M. Scott Memorial Scholarship Fund, ATTN: Abraham Scott, P. O. Box 1023, Springfield, VA 22151. An official transcript, a copy of the applicant's FAFSA, a 500-1000 word essay, and a high school senior picture must be submitted with the application. lee-Jackson educational foundation scholarship
Eighteen scholarships available to Virginia high school juniors and seniors who submit outstanding original, analytical essays on any aspect, positive or negative, of the career, character, or legacy of General Robert E. Lee and/or General "Stonewall" Jackson. $2000 will be awarded to the first place essay, and $1000 for the second place essay submitted in each of the state's 8 public high school regions. An additional $8000 will be awarded to the single essay that is judged to be the most outstanding in the state. community foundation of the new river valley scholarships
Eleven separate scholarships available to Narrows High School seniors, ranging from $500 to $1500 will be available on October 9 online at www.cfnrv.org/scholarships. A letter of recommendation, official academic transcript, and completion of the FAFSA are required. ACCE students at New River Community College are eligible for these scholarships. A $10,000 award available to seniors intending to pursue a career in a STEM field at an accredited U. S. college or university. Lunch pail defense scholarship
Scholarship available to a senior that personifies the spirit and fortitude embodied by the Lunch Pail. The recipient must show excellence in character by virtue of his/her commitment to community service, diligence in academics, participation in extracurricular activities, and resilience in the face of life's adversities. Requirements include financial need, 2.5 GPA or better, official high school transcript, official SAT or ACT score, proof of college acceptance, a fully completed application, a school-related reference, an external reference for extracurricular activities outside of school, and a full-page essay explaining why he/she is applying and how his/her character and life experience personify the fortitude embodied by the Lunch Pail. Deadline for applications is February 15, 2018. Applications are available in the main office.
Virginia mayflower society scholarship
A $1620 award available to a senior that is a Virginia resident. Applicants are required to be sponsored by a current teacher or a member of the Virginia Mayflower Society and maintain a B average. A brief resume showing academic achievement and community service, an official transcript, a letter from your sponsor, and an original essay must be submitted. Information may be requested in the main office. Deadline for applications is March 19.
